Was I crazy to spend $200 on them? (Omgosh, did I just say that out loud?)
Nope. And here's why...
I have worn them just about every day since February 15, and my feet have never been happier! They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
They have stood up to all the walking I've been doing, they are warm (maybe too warm for NC?), water resistant which makes perfect sense around here, and with the little wedge, they add a bit of style but I don't feel overdressed dropping Merrit off at school or going grocery shopping. The full sole is perfect for uneven surfaces; I think I'd break my neck in heeled boots or higher wedges on these cobblestone streets and old, cracked sidewalks! (Tina, that was for you.)
The boots look cutest with tucked-in skinny jeans in either black or denim and a tunic-length top. I also wear them with my boot-cut Lucky Brand jeans over top of the boots. (Snagged those at 75% off, which is more my speed. I'm usually Team Bargain Price, not Team Full Price.) Not as cute that way because you can't see the full boot, but still a good look.
I want to try them with tights and skirts/sweater dresses, but I have to wait for our boxes of clothes to arrive. My wardrobe right now consists of only what I packed in my suitcase for the trip over: Three pairs of jeans, three graphic T-shirts, one long-sleeved grey T-shirt, three tunic tops, one pashmina, three turtlenecks (in red, black, and brown), and my light grey puffer coat. This is a versatile collection of clothes (thanks to my friend and personal style consultant, Simply Fit Mama's Brandy, for helping me put it together).
However...after weeks on end of wearing the same stuff, day in and day out, in different combinations, I'm in a total style rut! I'm ready for a little variety. In the meantime, thank goodness I have some super cute boots to boost the style quotient just a tad and perk me up.
Here's the video that sold me on the boots:
What is your favorite wardrobe item? Do tell! And did you pay full price or get it on sale?

thanks for that shout-out, mir!! and yes, it was definitely the cobblestone that got me, not the fact that my wedges were like 4" high.
oh, i needed that laugh...
Surely those 4-inch wedges are NOT your favorite wardrobe item? ;-)
Super cute! And $200 isn't that much when you think about the cost per wear :) That's what I always do!
They do look comfy and warm. I agree with Page, you have probably surpassed your $200 worth at least once!
What does it mean when the wardrobe pieces that work best for me are the things you gave me as gifts? That I can't dress myself? That all my taste is in my mouth? That you have an incredible sense of style? Yeah, that's it.
Item #1. The olive green, wool cardigan you bought me 7 years ago. It was soft, warm, and fit me perfectly. I say was because I finally had to discard it. I plum wore it out. It actually grew holes.
Item #2. The light khaki military style Gap jacket you bought me about 6 years ago. No matter what I pair it with or how many pounds I gain, it still makes whatever I have on look better.
Item #3. The LandsEnd rust suede boots you bought me about 5 years ago. They are beyond comfortable, warm, and always make me feel ready for anything.
Item #4. The Liz Clairborne turquoise and navy short sleeved top you passed on to me 3 years ago. It's silky but not clingy. Dresses up jeans.
Item #5. The Sperry Top Siders you bought me for my last birthday. I can wear them all day, every day and my feet feel great. Better than barefoot. I wear them year 'round, and everyone thinks I come from money.
Item #6. The wool beret you brought home from England for me when you went over on your scouting mission. So thoughtful. Typical you.
YOU are my favorite wardrobe item. You deserve those boots. Too bad I can't say I bought them for you.
Mir, I love this blog because I feel like I'm still sharing life with you, even though you've crossed the pond. But the icing on the cake is reading your mom's comments to you. I swear, she makes me laugh, cry and want to invite her to our next girls night! LOVE IT!!
Love the boots -- super cute!
@ ann- i told mir the same thing about her mom last night! i LOVE her- she is hilarious and amazing!
@ mir- okay, hands down my favorite wardrobe item are my FRYE knockoff cowboy boots i got from target for 49.99. i have them in two shades of brown, that is how much i adore them. they go with everything, bootcut jeans, dresses, etc. and give me a stylish edge in an otherwise boring outfit. i could marry these boots!!!
