We are guests in the home of Chris and Kristi for the week. And they have certainly rolled out the red carpet. We have slept like kings in their bonus/guest room for the past two nights. They treated us and the kids to a day at their pool yesterday, which was the perfect way to kick-start a vacation. Their two daughters have been great, playing with the boys on the Wii, on the trampoline, and in the back yard. Their eldest, Summer, gets a special mention for giving up her room and bed for M and O.
Last night, the men grilled steaks, salmon, and summer vegetables while Kristi and I made mashed potatoes, salad, and bread. Unexpectedly (though Mike says she was parked in the street with binoculars scoping out the house for the moment when the steaks came off the grill), our friend Tina rang the doorbell right at dinner time. So, she and her two sweet kids joined us for the meal.
