Back to School

Special breakfast, made to order, for first day of school.

Merrit goes back to school today. He's an upperclassman. A "Year Four" student. A big kid on campus. He's excited to see his friends, meet his new teacher, and be back in school.

As usual, I had higher hopes for what we'd accomplish over the summer, compared to what we actually did accomplish. I envisioned daily Bible study, and multiplication drills, and read-aloud novels, and historical field trips (well, we did do some of that, just not the reports, dioramas, and mobiles I had planned!...kidding, kidding...sort of).

C'est la vie. We had a great summer. The fact that Merrit is excited about returning to school tells me that he's rested and refreshed. Mission accomplished.
