High-Speed Train, Newcastle > Edinburgh

We are off to Edinburgh, Scotland for the day! We RUSHED to get the
central station in Newcastle this morning. We overslept and then forgot
that the metro trains don't run as often on Saturdays as they do during
the week. Eek! No joke...we got through the ticket line at 8:12 for our 8:17
departure! Whew, that is cutting it WAY too close!

The ADORABLE seaside town of Berwick upon Tweed. We are definitely
going to come back here!

Farms and villages pass by as Merrit looks on.

And then he quickly became bored with the stunning English countryside...
so we gave him his PSP. Sigh...
This is a rare moment in time captured on film: Ollie actually IN his seat.

Merrit took this pic of Mike and I having our cup of tea on the train.
Notice the death grip on Olfers.

We get off the train in Edinburgh--just two hours later--and the train station
is literally PACKED with men in kilts. Turns out there's a big football match
on today. The kilts are everywhere. And people are drinking at 10am.
Ah, Scotland on match day.

Ollie waiting patiently while I get change for the
pay toilets. 20 pence just to pee. Sheesh.

And we're off like a herd of turtles.
Here we all are leaving the Edinburgh train station,
which is right in the middle of town. How
awesome is that?

Edinburgh, here we come!
