How great it is to have friends in town. We are having a blast showing them around our little town. They leave tomorrow and we've done a lot since they got here last week...so today we just kept it low-key here in Whitley Bay.
We're out the door. Destination: Whitley Bay.
Turn right Ollie; it's three blocks to the seafront. |
Kara, Emmie, Mike, Merrit, and I walking and bike-riding along the boardwalk
in Whitley Bay. The North Sea is so beautiful!
Only a few weeks of no training wheels and Merrit has gotten really good
at bike riding. |
Merrit started out on his bike in the skate park--his FIRST TIME on his bike
out there. Hello, panic attack. (Me, not him!) |
Ollie's FIRST TIME in the skate park. He got knocked down once and we
pulled him out. It was a busy day, so we'll have to bring him back when it's
not so crowded! He did great, though! He did NOT want to come out! |
Since he's still new with bike riding, the bike was a little much for Merrit, so
after Ollie was pulled, Merrit went out for a while on the scooter. |
All the benches along the sea have plaques to commemorate people. I've never
seen fresh flowers alongside the plaques. Some kind of anniversary. Sweet. |
The boys taking a breather. After the skate park, on our way to get ice cream.
Oh my gosh, what a day! |
Merrit has the camera. Taking pictures of people.
Ollie! |
| Jer and Mike! |
| Kara! |
| Emmie! |
| Me! |
Then the photographer passed the camera over to me.
Merrit! |
Mike had coffee while the boys and I shared a banana split,
and Jer and Kara ate chocolate cake and scones with coffee. |
Mike chasing the boys through a flower maze, just beside the Spanish
City (a famous landmark in Whitley Bay). |
| Run, Merrit, run! |
| Run, Ollie! Here comes Daddy! |
